The Best shot I've ever seen!!!
After playing in cornhole tournaments with the likes of Matt Guy, Randy Atha, Steve Vanderever, and some other very talented players, how can I find one shot that takes the title "Best shot ever". Well to be honest, I can't. I myself have thrown some shots that could be up there. Down in Louisville, as a teammate of Matt's, I watched him throw about 4 shots that saved the tournament that I'm not sure but 2 or maybe 3 guys could even figure out how to throw. I was playing against Steve and Dewey Dean down in Harrison and Dewey threw a game winning airmail over two bags to win the tournament in the championship game. Some of my favorites from random tournaments would be like I watched Matt Guy take a bag and drag 2 others with it in for big points. I've seen different players throw an airmail with their last bag and take all 4 of their bags in with that bag. I've seen seen players throw what appears to be an airmail, land on another bag and take them both in the hole. I've seen so many shots it would be hard to pick just one, and I haven't even listed all the one's I've ever seen. Or should the best shot ever be one that a player has become known for? Randy can throw a bag over 15' in the air and get it to go in with some consistency. Matt Guy can throw a bag fast enough that it would register on a radar gun under 4' and make it in to the hole with some consistency. I've been able to shoot both of those shots and figure them out, but those 2 can do them on request. I can drive a bag from the bottom of the board (below the ACO logo on the board) up and make both of them. I know every one has heard of Chicago style by now. Well back before Chicago even played cornhole, a man named Chu Farfsing and I really showed folks how the shot was done. We wouldn't just walk out about 5', we could shoot out as far as you would ask us to go. I watched Josh Briede practice for his 60' foot toss at the Christian Moerlein Easter Seals tournament in Eden Park. He made a handful from 60'. It was sick-nasty. So email me, Bagsmcbaggerson@yahoo.com, some of the best shots you've ever seen and I'll list them here in a reader's blog later this month. Check back for the results, maybe one shot that you've thrown will make the list. And as always, "Keep on Cornholin".
